About the Lecturer:
Paul Laird is Professor Emeritus of Musicology at the University of Kansas, where he passionately taught for thirty years until 2024. With his extensive knowledge of American music and a deep focus on jazz, he curated the list of jazz festivals for two editions of The New Grove Dictionary of Jazz. A renowned scholar on American musical theater, he has published widely and shares his expertise frequently in the Kansas City area.
